Hi can anybody Give me any advice, just wondering what my redline should be set at,is it personal preference or should it be set to certain revs it's a 2000 model with chip and can,any help would be gratefull

You can't change the redline as such, just the point that the gear change light comes on. It's personal preference really. Somewhere between max torque and max power?

Press and hold the centre button and the rev needle swings round in small increments. Release at the point you want he light to flas to tell you to change......easy!!!

As above mate; with the ignition on, press and release the middle button then press and hold - the dial will increase in 1K increments. Let go when you want to set it. It really is up to you how high you go but how often do you go above 10k? I have mine always set to the max 12k but only because I have no reason to set it lower... If that makes sense.
Dave.

The bike will not rev over 10500 so you need to set it lower than that, otherwise it will never trigger the light.

Anyone know how to do this with the 02 model? Just bought the mille and the max light comes on at 7k and bogs.
Thanks

just read your post again. sounds like you may have a problem. the setting of the 'rev light' does not change the actual red line, just the point that the red light flashes.

Hi As apostrophe says the red light coming on shouldn't bog down the bike. Check air filter, plugs and fueling or put some injector cleaner through it.

Every time your battery gets disconnected or charge drops too low, it will reset your speedo to kph, and your gear change light to 6000 rpm. As said, the default rpm/change light shouldn't affect the running of your bike though.

Just bought it used, so ill go through the suggested cleaning and get back to you guys, thanks for the info. just hoping its not some expensive engine fix since its got 27, 000 miles on it.
