Hi

As per the above after a set of undamaged cans, straps and links etc for my 2009 Gen 2. Must have at least removeable baffles, I don't want pure 'race' cans. Don't want to spend over £250 either as I can get a set of cheap new ones for that. I appreciate that cheaper brand cans are frowned upon by many but i've had Delkevic and Fuel cans in the past on other bikes and don't have any compants about them.

Just thought i'd see if there were any 'better' used ones out there.

Cheers
Mossy

SkyBlue, are you from one of those eastern block countries ?

Or is your keyboard bvack to front ?

Thanks for the suggestions. I picked up a set of stainless beowulf oval cans off the bay but having fitted them they are loooooouud. Too loud for me even with my already diminished hearing....so i've stuck the stock cans back on. The beowulfs were standard length with baffles so not sure i'm going to get any which are quieter but give any sort of performance gain. ho hum. never mind, its still no doubt too much bike for abilities anyhoo :D

Further to this...and after a little research it appears that if I want quiet-ish aftermarket pipes then the Akras are they way to go. My V5 doc says that stationary noise reading is 93dB(A) and the Akra website states that the slip on titaniums are 94dB(A) at just under 5000 rpm. Can anyone vouch for them being just slightly louder than stock? ....and are they worth the money for the performance gain over stock cans?

I know plenty have them, just asking if they are worth it for the performance gain and not the...ahem.... 'poser' value.

If Akras are the way to go then fine...but i'll be in the dog house :D

akras fitted with baffles are not much louder than the OE exhausts however IMO the performance gains will be minimal unless you remove the baffles and fit an aftermarket filter.

is your bike on map 2

Not sure to be honest, I haven't had it checked.. the bike appears to be stock but I can see from a past service invoice that a BMC air filter was fitted about 2 years ago. Not sure if its still in there, have to check.
