On trying to take the front seat on my g2 T off why oh why do the 8mm bolts just turn and not come out am I doing something wrong :banghead:banghead:banghead

The rivnuts are spinning in the subframe.
You need to work a screwdriver under the seat to hold it and stop it turning.
It's a bit fiddly, but they do come off eventually.

You will then need some quick release pins....
It's an Aprilia, you need to have a good sense of humour, there will be loads of other niggles that will piss you right off.

Brooksy , put a bolt thru the underside of the frame with a nyloc nut on the top to keep the bolt fixed and tight to act as a threaded post ,
then place seat over posts and secure with wing nuts .

worked for me on my speed trip saves getting the spanners and sockets out too .

Never had any problems with the seat/bolts on mine. :dunno
that's because you never took it off :lol
must admit never had probs with mine but looking for an easier way as I lift the tank and remove the seat quite a bit:yes would have made looking for my leccy problem a lot easier as the seat and tank were up and down like a whores draws :lol

Well ad a go trying to take seat off , the right hand side post has snapped it had already snapped previous owner ad glued it :banghead tried the left side still no joy big screwdriver under post while turning rachet , wtf am I too do ? I could snap the other post then get a new or second had seat but still need the bolts out :bawling, :bawling

Ash where can one purchase those quick release pins?

I got mine off one of the guys on aprilia.me a while ago.
I was going to say that it makes getting the seat / tank off easier, but I have a set of Mana risers on mine and the tank doesn't clear them.
Basically they're a 6mm bolt that's been cut off and shaped / drilled held on with a locknut and an R clip to hold the seat.
No help in getting the seat off when the rivnut is turning, I can only suggest breaking the bolt off.

saw a thread on there.... dont think there are any left & would only make a batch up if / when he got a lot of orderes... might drop him a pm and see what the score is...

Gonna attempt too get em out and put long bolts from underneath locked with nylocks then just drop the posts on the bolts and use wing nuts to secure not gonna mess about wiv quick release pins , I've seen the pins on fleabay for bout £4 posted ?

from memory (so probably wrong !) wouldnt bolts from the underneath with a locking nut on top effect how the seat mounts ? i think ,without mods, the seat would sit too high at the bolt end as its now sitting on top of the nut instead of the frame ?
Guess if you got a really thin nut (mecano style !) then it would make sod all difference ?

....or i could be talking crap as usual...
