Servicing and Warranty

Hi All.

Does anybody know, for definate, what the rules are regarding sevicing, and warranty claims?.

I purchased new Aprilia from local dealers late last year and also took out the extended 2 + 2 year warranty on the bike.

I have just learned that they are now not part of the Aprilia franchise and cannot carryout services on my bike.

Does this now mean that I have to take the bike to a recognised Aprilia dealers to be serviced to keep the warranty up as the nearest one is approx 180 mile round trip, ( unless someone knows where theres a nearer one, im in the Middlesbrough Area ).

If this is the case, does the shop have any obligations to help me out.( THEY ARE NOT THE FREINDLIEST OF PEOPLE TO START WITH), though wont mention any names at this stage.

The only reason I bought the bike local was in case I had any issues with it I wouldnt have to travel hundreds of miles to get it sorted, I could have saved £500 if id have bought from further affield but didnt want the hassle of travelling.

So my question, do the services have to be carried out by Aprilia Dealers in order for the warranty to be honoured?.
Thanks to all in anticipation, .

I'm sure there's some new rules out that as long as thebike is serviced to the requirements of that specific service, and OE parts are used the warranty should be honoured.

Thanks for that, will have to do some more investigation work, :thumbup

There is a well respected Aprilia mechanic working out of York who can stamp the warranty book. Bit closer than 90 miles.
