Service question

J

Jacques_nasi

I bought my RSV1000 Mille about a month ago with 15 000km on the clocks, ( my first Italian bike)

Its a 2002 model so the warrenty has already expired, so would you guys recomend home servicing as I suppose there's no use taking it to the dealers for a stamp as the warrenty is gone?:dunno

On all my other bikes (Japanese Bikes) I did Home servicing, and I can do most of the basic mechanical jobs myself

Cheers!

the 15k is the major service , needing a valve, check.although in 45k my 02 mille has never needed them adjusting!. So you could prolly get away with doing the rest yerself.

Bought my first rsv in 2000,got the first service done, wast of money, did 56000km on it did oil filter sparkplugs and regular cleaning of air filterKN,plus change of brake and clutch liquid, never a problem, new owner have done another 12000km,still going super.
Bought a new rsv factory in 2006,only problem bleeding of backbrake, but now solved, but got super advise from other rsv drivers on theforum.
So i would never waste money on service from dealer,at least no in NZ,on a old age pension,so better spent money on petrol.
good luck Torben.

Thanx guys,

my one friend has a 1999 RSV, He also does all the servicing himself and not a day's trouble with the Mille!:thumbup
