Hi, took my 08 RSV for the first time today, noticed the service light has come on. Still seems to run fine. take it there is some way to read a code off the clocks to find out what as put the service light on??

i am not sure if same on the newer models but i think that the service light comes on automatically just to remind you that you need to change your oil. it is only a reminder really and can be reset by you. any engine issues are presented by the EFI reading
Looked through the service book, no mention of reseting the service light. Hoping it is just the oil needs changing. Will phone a dealer tomoz, no doubt they will want to relieve me of some hard earned cash! Broken first ride, gutted.
It isnt broken mate, like has been said i think its just to remind you that its service time. it'll either go off mileage or a time scale (like every 6 months) ... just look at service schedule and see which one your bike needs. if its a newish bike it may be a minor or major service (which will obviously cost you)
