'Service' light

'SERVICE' has just popped up on my dash after about 5000m
i assume that this appears after a preset mileage and that the bike doesn't actually have a service fault.

how do i reset so that it disappears?

Yep, hold down 'LAP' and 'R' together for about 5 seconds

Does it do any harm if he light has been on for several thousand miles without it being turned off? Do the bikes go into a limp mode of any sort?
