My bike way overdue a service, last one was at 6250 miles last year, now on 14000..Just had new tyres and chain & sprockets fitted..Dealers around here who know Aprilias quoting £350 to £390.. The higher charging shop at least gives a courtesy bike..

What does everyone else pay? Mine will have to wait a bit longer as sons birthday this month..

Mines just done 17,000

Had a oil and filter change, air box clean, rear brake bled, suspension fiddle and a once over. £115 inc vat at Southern Cross North London.:doug
First time there, so I was wondering what they would pick up on the check....everything.
Brake and clutch fluids, pads, tyres, exhaust needs re-packing... I like the sound. And a few other bits and bobs.:pirate

Gave me a Bandit 6 for the day. Were bloody nice guys too and when I rocked up on my filthy dirty 02 mille just commented on how it was nice to see 'such a used machine':biggrin

servicing usually alternates 160 then 350 ish(the major service includes things like new sparks, TB balancing and valve checks.(although my 51k milles has never need the valves adjusted)
Ck

I change oil myself regular and do me own brakes and have a renegade airbox so no dramas there, saying that like Flick i have been to Southern x and they are the nuts my bike will be going there at least once a year for a good once over no matter what. They miss nothing, i hold them in very high regard and they are reasonably priced

£350 is about the norm for a full service including valve clearance check. Make sure they do this though as some dealers have been known not to do the clearance check and still charge for it. Ask for the actual valve clearance check sheet :thumbup

Good idea..I'll ask to see that..They seem a professional dealership so can only hope they do a thorough job..

Going to try Cobb & Jagger in Baildon..They're an Italian bike specialist, mainly Ducati's but did have a franchise for Aprilia until they fell out with them..

ask to speak to charlie! he's a maye of mine who owns the company...top bloke, tell him griff will be inspecting the work afterwards!!:eatcorn

you'll be fine there!

Mark, i can only speak of my dealings with " Ducati of Leeds " and lets just say i wont be again.
Give AMR CLICKY a call and see what he he can do for you.
A nice run up from Leeds aswell :thumbup

Seems servicing is as dodgy as buying a used car..Leyburn a nice run if weather good but a fair way for a service (pain if there's a fault)

What problems did you have at Cobb & Jagger? Used Jordan bikes Leeds last time, and did the valve check but missed other stuff such as changing the fork oil..

I used to use a guy that comes to your house, for last 12 years, but you can tell he's got bored with the job and skimps on stuff now..Pity because he was cheap and used to do a good service..
Would still use him for a major problem as he knows what he's doing..

mark, as you say you can only speak as you find. Just a though for you, i use moto strada - italian bike specialist (main dealer for motoguzzi, morini and as i hera it will be for aprilia soon) 1/2 mile form ducati leeds / cobb and jagger. Jason co-owner of Moto Strada was top guy at cobb and jagger until he set up on his own. really knows his italian bikes (having said that i can hardly find the fuel filler cap so easily impressed) often has workshop booked for 3 weeks ahead.

Hi
Thanks..I'll check him out..

you'll get their details of the net but if you have any probs let me know and i'll give you numbers etc.:thumbup

i always find it best to take some blinkers with you when you visit so you dont get distracted/seduced by shiny italian exotica - mv's, ducatis, the odd aprilia and there's always a guzzi mgs01 or whatever it is, an acquired taste im told but i think it looks the nuts

Moto-Srada...I went there to look at a RSV before i bought the one i did and your right there is some beautiful bikes there and i was impressed with the set-up there :thumbup ( The RSV was a Tri-colour....later found out it turned out to be NeilB's old one ) Place was a bit hard to find tho' so use a sat-nav if you have one unless you know Shipley well :thumbup

Moto strada is a good set up and if i wasn't prepaired to travel i would use them.
I only use AMR because he is passionate about RSV's and i like the way he treats his customers, non of my local dealers have a clue about customer care and seem to be affraid of anything Italian.

I just got a quote from AMR for a full service inc valve check, suspension check/set-up. £350 approx ...would that inc new oil, pads, filters etc or would that be extra :dunno must email him back as it didn't say.
