Hi, posted on here some the time back about the low fuel level light not coming on leading to me running out of fuel whilst out riding. Decided to try sort the problem out yesterday. I thought before I opened up the tank to maybe replace the fuel low level sensor I would check the wiring to the tank to see if the that circuit was intact. Whist doing that I managed to briefly short out two wires! Now I thought fuses were fitted to melt and prevent further damage occurring but none of the fuses have blown. I had a bike, apart from the one fault that was fully running etc but now I only have half a bike working and now not running. Have I caused damage to the instrument panel or maybe the ECU ? I read a thread I think on one of the American forum where a chap had similar problems with his bike that I now have with mine. Ignition off I now have the head lights on when the low beam button is out. Ignition on, nothing at all on the dash, side lights, brake lights and horn. Any thoughts on what I have Fu*ked up would be appreciated, I just hope it's not something expensive like the dash or ECU I've ruined. Is it AF 1 that is highly recommended on here? Just looked at my last two MOTs to see what mileage was on the clock before the melt down surprised to see that in one year the bike had only done 667 miles! Must get out more dammed weather!
