Hiiii!

Just wondering if anyone has any advice or tips, I have an RSV Factory 2006...the bike is immaculate, however after leaving my brother and uncle to do the whole brake caliper bleeding, i've noticed some light cosmetic scratches on the brushed aluminium swingarm. I've tried removing them with Autosol metal polish and a dremel, but it's done absolutely jack sh!t apart from making it look a bit cleaner.

Any help gladly appreciated, im quite a perfectionist when it comes down to stuff like this and i don't want to have to buy a new swingarm to restore the bike to its former glory!!!

The swingarm is clear anodised. Not a lot you can do to fix marks on it.

Best to leave it. If you polish it too much and go through the anodise to the base metal it will look 10 times worse.

Thanks for your posts guys, much appreciated...after speaking to some specialists here both at Aprilia and companies that specialise in anodizing aluminium motorcycle parts, there is a few layers of lacquer on top which is what appears to be scratched, they've suggested to lacquer the area, the lacquer will smooth out the finish and should be as good as new.

The guys also mentioned that if the scratches had gone through the lacquer they could offer to dip the swingarm (as long as they know what metal it is) obviously i'd have to remove the singarm to do this. I spoke to a few companies that all quoted between £100to £150 to do this. Don't know how much a powder coat would cost or a new swingarm which are the only two options....

Once i've sorted this out i'm looking at uprating the rear caliper along with the induction, fueling and cans, if anyone has info or knows someone or somewhere reasonably priced, please send me a private message. UK based...
