Hi guys,

Got a scottoiler for the T (cheers Moggi!!) and wondered if anyone has a "how to" fitment procedure (pics would be ace!!) I'm confident enough if there are directions to follow!!!!

Thanks guys..............:thumbup

Sorry mate - I use a "pro-oiler" smaller unit & different fittings.

A couple of hints - the nozzles will fix behind the chain toe guard. Route the supply pipe under the upper chain guide and up behind the frame at the rear of the tank.
The actual oiler/container should fit under the seat somewhere - remember you need to refill scottoilers about every 500 miles, so when you place it dont make it too hard to get at.

Thanks buddy...................:thumbup

Out of interest, what would you use to secure the tubing to the swing arm and frame????

Ta.

If you take a decent size flat bladed screwdriver you can pry the top chain protector up just enough to pass the oil feed line underneath it - no need to fix it anywhere to the swing arm.(This might sound horrific but it has channels in the bottom and the pipe doesnt cause it to be distorted) I'll see if i can get a picture later on. I've just installed the oiler on my new bike so it's still all nice & clean. It exits from underneath the chain guide just behind the front sprocket & you can thread the end under the tank to appear alongside the battery - I leave this bit free to allow for movement etc. It's all hidden from view

I usually cable tie the feed pipe to either a wiring loom or to the subframe as needed. On mine I have threaded the pipe through the subframe bar that the tank fixes to at the rear & up the LHS of the subframe to where the pump & oil reservoir sit.

Pro-oiler Fitment

OK

Took a few snaps, hope these help.

1. Oil feed nozzle on rear sprocket

2. Route of oil supply pipe to swingarm

3. Oil Reservoir (good for about 10k miles) under rear seat cowl

4. Oil pump & controller/junction box on side of sub frame

Hey Paul.... that's bleedin neat mate. How do you rate the Pro-oiler? Only ever used the Scottoiler myself....think I need a change!!

I think they are brilliant, this is the fifth bike I've fitted one to, they need a bit of faff to set up, but once sorted they just get on with the job without needing any attention, I only top it up in spring. It doesn't matter how hot or cold the weather the chain still gets the same amount and with a bit of fine tuning you can limit the amount of oil fling to almost nil.

The Scottoiler I had on my VFR several bikes ago used to coat everything in oil including the pillion.

Pro-Oiler website, chap who makes them is called Pablo, very helpful & friendly guy.

Cheers for the info mate.....think I might just give one a go.

Now what did I do with that rose joint........ :)

Just had a gander at the site....a question!
Where have you placed the control unit? Not so sure I want a big black thingy stuck on my steering rack :(
You got any pictures of your front end to give me an idea of how she sits with it on?
Cheers fella

It's very simple. Drop the front cowl off - 6 screws & the windscreen will come off with it. Fasten a small bracket (should be supplied) to the fixing screw for the speedo cluster, stick the controller to it using the pads porvided & replace the cowl. I run the control cable down the left & through the cross bar with the oil pipe.

Thanks very much Paul mate.............exactly what i was looking for!!! Will get it fitted tomorrow!!

Top man again........................:thumbup

Pretty unobtrusive eh.....think I will go with this for a change.

Cheers for the trouble....will buy you a pint :)

I might hold you to that - I am only 20 minutes from Beverley :lol

If you do need any help fitting it etc. I am only across the bridge in Barton.

Handy to know....thanks Paul. Come the summer we'll have to meet up somewheres...compare Factories :)

Deffo. :thumbup Windy lives just a few miles West near Howden, so that's 3. I am pretty sure there's a lad in Hull somewhere on the Forum as well.

Sounds like a plan

What's the collective noun for a bunch of Factories I wonder; a riot, a storm, a plunder....hmmmmmm :)

usually a Hoon, but a Storm is good,

:lol as Tuono means "the sound of thunder" in Italian, perhaps it's a clap of Tuono's :no
