Hello can anyone help me? I've got an 04 Rsvr with Akro carbon cans and k+n and as far as I know hasn't had any set up work(dyno) done. Last week I thought I'd stick some new Ngk iridium plugs in her but after an hour she was running so rough and cutting out when coasting to a stop that I took them out to put the old standard plugs back in, iridium plugs were all black and sooty. Took bike out and still the same rough running when warmed up and tootling about round town but not so bad on back roads thrashing? Came home and noticed strong unburnt fuel smell so I've put new standard plugs in today and she seemed ok coming to work this morning but on arriving felt a bit lumpy and fuel smell back? Anyone any ideas please?

How ya goin Paul, it's Bob from oz , no not on map 2 yet but it's being planned for soon mate.

definatly sounds like theres something not quite right buddy..

may i suggest before you go any further that you check the hoses arounf the throttle bodies to see if theres something split or disconnected....this isnt unusual..

can you here any hissing sounds??
and does it tick over ok??

let us know buddy!

Hey Bob, good mate, yourself?

Assume you haven't fitted the PC3 yet? If it's still on map 1 it'll run a bit rich, not massively noticeable though & your problems are too extreme for it to be just that. As Griff says, check over all the pipes & hoses, and the air hoses too running into the air duct as if the flapper valve in the air duct isn't opened when warm that'll richen it up too.

Hey y'all.
Sorry for late reply but found after checking all hoses like Griff and Paul recommended, that the two real thin hoses from throttle bodies to underside of air box had both gotten hairline cracks in their rearsides/nearest throttle bodies, and I only found these when I raised the air oz bottom half up slightly to replace front plug???!!!
Anyways I'm all sorted again and thanks again lads, for the advice and help,proves this forum works!
Cheers,Good Luck in the New Year, Bob.
