Hi Guys,

Dont know if anyone can help me but recently my 02 plate RSVR has been running warmer than usual (92-95c) but i took it out at the weekend and it got up to 120c flashing i checked the fans were running and both were.

Has anyone had any issues like this before i start taking the thing apart please?

Thanks in advance! :confused

Firstly is the coolant at the correct level?

Airlock?Thermostat? Thermostatic switch needs replacing as fans cutting in too late?

Go with top up or drain and refill and start it up and watch what temp the fans cut in at then come back and go from there

Ok ill try this at the weekend and let you know thankyou!

My dad has the same bike bike 53 plate and his runs around the early 80s?

My 1999 Millie will run at 75 in the summer rising up to 80 / 85 in town traffic.

Try all the checks REDRAT suggested. I am sure someone will call me a prick for this but i have heard that a really strong antifreeze can lower the temp a couple of degrees.

I have a 2007 Touno and a 2009 RSVR Factory - both have had overheating problems after the dealer changed out the coolant. There were bubbles in the system. Both times I ran the engine at idle for a few minutes with the radiator cap off and the problem went away. Hope that your fix is this easy. Good luck.

First of all: WAFO!

As to your problem: The impellor should not move and iven if it moves it should tighten itself.

What do you consider overheating? What temp?

Also double check the cooling system for defective sensors and air pockets.

How is the engine running apart from the cooling problem?

I had my 08 RSV overheating today on the street. Thanks to RSVRtunoUSA for the radiator cap advice. Sorted it out and got me home. 👍
