RSVR not turning over

New to working on bikes so excuse any daft statements!
Recently replaced a faulty connector under the seat, see previous post regarding baffling EFI message. I now have a block that doesn't get hot but the bike won't start. When switching on pressing the key fob does not 'BEEP' the alarm as it used to, the warning triangle stays on and after a few seconds the EFI message appears. The result is the same as it used to be if I forgot to press the key fob, the fuel pump primes but the starter does not turn over. Is the alarm not disarming?
Checked the following;
The area I was working in to see if I dislodged something.
The fuses
Battery - voltage 12V on the dash
Connectors under the seat and on the right side behind the fairing

Anyone steer me in the next direction?

By gen2 do you mean new shape versus original mille? If so, yes it is gen2.

Could be the factory fitted immobiliser then,it can be bypassed but I don't know how.

Hopefully someone like spoonz will chip in with a more expert view

I assume it's the Meta alarm that you have. I had the same one, and every time I activated/deactivated it, I could see a spark inside that bad connector that you replaced. After I replaced mine, it blew the fuse going to that connector the next time I activated it. I would check that fuse, and remove the alarm and chuck it off a bridge.

The guys at Meta reckon the alarm has reached the end of its shelf life (10 years) and, when disconnected from the battery, the internal alarm battery used its last bit of juice. Solution is a new alarm.
However that doesn't answer the starting problem. Guy at Meta reckoned the starter relay is often the problem. Checked mine and whilst the wiring and connectors are clean there is signs of a small bit of melting on the cap of one terminal. I can start the bike by shorting the relay using a spanner does this mean the starter relay needs replacing and should be the root of my problem?

To add insult the side stand light switch does not extinguish the dash light when the stand is retracted. Any thoughts here as well?

Thanks for all of your advice.
I have had no problems with my Meta alarm for 10 years so fitted a replacement. Bike now starts okay therefore no need for a new solenoid at this moment and the root of the problem appears to have been the alarm reaching the end of its life.
Cleaned the side stand switch and refitted, problem resolved.
Cheers
