Well who said bad luck comes in threes didnt count on the after effects, i went into work today and got pulled to one side by the line manager, he starts to question me about my time off last week, well i needed the mot for my bike and i got a ticket by the old bill, well i gonna let you go so this is your last shift:jack, F##K so after i saved myself from the courts for my fine, and got a mot, now i get sacked , life just couldnt be better,...ooh and after my last 12hr shift my insurance renewal come through the post i pay 1065 fully comp and its now 1668 fully comp:puke,, so its got to go as i cant pay this.....

so.. 2003 Colin edwards replica RSVR, 12500 miles 12 mot ,11 tax, front tyre new, rear nearly new, twin high level pipes, a few marks all round small stone marks, f/as/h, meta alarm+immob 2keys and 2thobs £4300 ovno

but i will be looking for a RSV1000 older model as i dont think i could ride any inline 4 and be happy, but i cant afford to insure this beast so if anyone would like to up grade, i would px and if anyone knows of any jobs in the bristol/avonmouth area drop me a line

What a bum week you having mate, so sorry to hear that lot. Can't believe you paid that much for insurance last year!! This year's is just ridiculous and obviously a "we don't want to insure you" type quote. I assume you have tried other insurers? All the best on the job front as well :cheers

Pays to be an old git sometimes :devious

They are just stupid quotes, i have 2yrs no claims, no convictions and am 26, TPFT is £203 with H&R on a 2001 RSV Mille.

i phoned round and got it down to 680 tpft for a rsv but i cant find anywhere that will do a rsvr cer for less than 1200, fully comp (never had a bike worth this much so no chances) also been down the local job shop, ha what a joke, i felt a bit funny parking it outside, next the standard issue "man and his dog" , i cant claim anything even though i worked for the last eight years and payed my tax, so i printing out some cv`s and going to drop them off at a few factory's near me as a start but better do this before the 7th july as thats when my insurance runs out........ happy days,,, the only good thing about having all this time free is that i can spend some more time with my little boy,

:thumbup :thumbup

Get those exhausts off and the chip whipped back out and onto ebay sir and get yourself some cash in the meantime. The bike will still sell with the previous exhaust on that you had i'm sure :pirate

Something will turn up mate! Thats an awesome bike, and I can tell you dont really want to part with it......give it a few weeks and see if you still feel the same way.

Sorry to hear of our bad news m8, I feel for ya!!!

I can't believe there is much of a difference between insurance on a CER compared to a standard RSV, I'm surprised there is such a difference in cost!!!

Cheers,

Gaz.

glad youve now found a bit of work to bide you over, what with the price of living going ever upwards.
im also shocked at the extra insurance cost for colin edwards over an rsvr or rsv! how old are you buddy?
i have no alarm/immob and no ncb,at 34yr old i pay £360 fully comp with h&r.

well the problem is im only 26 and have 2 years no claims, i had a crash last year on 14/10/07 and writ my r1 off, i have to wait for the claim to be settled before they will give me my 5 years back, bike has meta alarm+imob class 1, i also live in a bs7 area so they charge me for that as well...i tryed to get a discount for have a gerrt dog but they was having non of it, working on the agency not good people look at you like something they stepped in, and the paid just better than the dole,, but food on the table and all that, and i cant spend all my time lazying around....

i know what your saying buddy,i was given 6months off after my back op,as nie as it is to have a rest,i hate having newt to do,i actaly tried to get back to work in a diminished capacity only 2 week after the op but they wouldnt allow it.quickest i could get back was 2 month after the op.
no good sitting at home on crappy sick pay doin newt.
things can only get better buddy.

Getting the sack mate...after 8 years did you get the initial verbal warning followed by a written followed by the boot or was it a misconduct booting? If not the latter get yourself to citizens advice and see about sueing the barstewards...

As fo bike ins....try eBike....

i was paid off after 8 years as they shut down the factory, thats how come i got the rsvr cer, but i found a job driving a flt at a well know cider maker, and they just ended my temp contract as i had 3 days off unplanned so they called me in the office and told me not to come back tom,,,.... but i am on a agency at the mo and have just sent a cv off for motorcycle sales so got to see what the future holds?
