rsvr 05 tyre size

i need help with tyre size . my brand new rear got two screws in it yesterday after only 300 miles of use and is now unrepairable, as you can imagine i was made up :angry

anyway gonna order a new tyre today and have been told a 180 would be better than the 190 thats on now , what numbers am i looking for please ?

tyre on now is a 190/50/17

I like 190/50/17 for road use, bigger contact patch and profile radius is flatter than a 180/ 55 17 so better for wheelies,:devious for trackdays 190/55/17 or 180/55/17 are better for high speed turning, they have a tighter profile radius imo.:thumbup

Mate ya wont notice any difference on the road between a 180 and a 190, ive tried both and will go for the 190 everytime :thumbup:thumbup

oh well ordered now as long as it wont upset the bike it should be fine for me

wont upset the bike in the least, will feel the same, just dont expect this turns in tighter myth mate :thumbup

at least it might make my chicken strips smaller lol:thumbup

Nope it makes them bigger due to the tighter curve :biggrin:biggrin:biggrin:biggrin:biggrin

Ive gone from a 190/50 quilifier to a 185/55 Bridgestone 016,what a bloody difference,with a suspension setup by Griff,rear is cooked right of the edge,no chicken strips here,& yes it helps the bike to turn,you wont regret it
