That exhaust is huge and disgustingly bad.

I've come to terms that bike companies do this on purpose. Same with the windscreens that are too low, same with hideous blinkers, and oversized rear fenders that are pointless. The idea is that most companies, especially the big four (honda, yamaha, suzuki, and kawackasaki) receive incentives ($$$) to build the bikes that way so that kids will buy the latest and greatest aftermarket pieces.

Just my opinion, but I must be right about this....just look at this years literbike lineup...******* hideous. :puke every one of them. This years fireblade's exhaust is ridiculously stupid looking, as well as the gsxr's dual fog horns. The new R1 has practically no windscreen. This can't be a coincidence.

Once again Mr Chow is right on the money, bikes being released with uglier and uglier appendages. Not even the ZX-10R's mother can bare to look at him :puke. I'm not sure how the aftermarket faring people plan to solve the latest Fireblade's kicked up the backside and punched on the nose look.

Aprilia could learn from Ducati when it comes to paint schemes...some Aprilia designs make your eyes water...blue wheels, gold frames, black red/orage white paint, decals...more decals. The beautiful Brembo's Ohlins etc get lost amongst all the glitter.......But I do wholeheartedly agree with the above. The lines of the new Blade is awful. The R1 has those monstrous intakes and lights and half the side fairing is missing. Stick on some handlebars and its a streetfighter!!!!

Personally I would have thought its more to do with the Emission Laws and other Regulations concerning how big an indicator has to be etc,

just my 2 pence :thumbup

A good point you make there Red, and I agree with you somewhat, BUT, as one who has recently come to the Aprilia fold, and is subsequently still interested in the prices of new and used ones, if you look at most of the last RSVR`s left in dealers you`ll find that they are the sombre-looking metallic blue ones that nobody seems to want, as the colour looks more suited to a Honda VFR, or similar ?

So, it would seem that us Ape owners mostly like our bright/loud colour schemes, and to be honest, I do feel that it suits the Aprilia more, but possibly because most of them DO have bright colour schemes ?

Who knows, but food for thought............:dunno

We saw and heard an RSV4 down at Rye today on the Kent ride out.

Sounded awesome but still unsure about the look of it.

That exhaust may look ugly but sounds as sweet as any after market one.
As far as looking ugly, I think it is the best of the modern style. You kind of get use to it. Yes the sound is beautiful for a standard muffler, but I was at a test day a week and a half ago and there were 2 RSV4 Factories there with after market mufflers and they sound awesome:inlove. Nothing and I mean nothing at all sounds even close to them, you could swear a couple of Moto GP bikes were heading out of the pits!
