RSV4 Launch at dealers

Yeh i saw the bike yesterday when i dropped mine off, its much nicer in the flesh and its not as cramped as people are making out. My local garage are charging £50 per test ride.

I can wait

Just seen what the guy put at the bottom of the page. What a tube! After going to Birmingham and London bike show its is the cleanest and best put together bike i've seen.

We have to wait until June, here in Oz.:angry

Would be interested in reading what your opinions are after the test ride, as all the magazines haven't said a bad thing about it yet.

IF you can get MCN online out there then they did a road test. The outcome was 50/50 - Great Race bike but flawed road bike about sums up what they said.

I will still take one out for a test ride when they get here.

But I think it would be better to wait until they sort out all the problems maybe next years model:dunno

i found it a little small but i still want one

Sharky, told me a great story about the launch at Forza in Silverstone.....which ended up being the non-launch as Aprilia failed to send any merchandise, posters, blurb etc.. & failed to provide any bikes!!!! Cracking launch that eh!!!?

Flawed..?

Went to Wareham Aprilia to view the bike yesterday... lovely. Tried to get a ride but the're not letting anyone on it yet and yes I was told £50 for an hours test ages ago ! Ivan was saying that he found out that one of the testers, can't remember which one, is sponsored by Yamaha.......... independent test not. Will wait 'till another mag gives it a go. would be good to see it on a dyno. He also said that in T mode it's scary as hell !!

It's Michael Neeves who has a bike supplied by Yamaha. That's not unusual as all the mags have manufacturer supplied bikes as long termers etc.
Neeves was on a Yam last year but voted the Blade the best alrounder.

You have to test ride it yourself and make up your own mind. Personally i think it highly likely many might ride an R1 faster than the RSV4. The RSV4 is a racer on the road and the R1 is a road bike. Turn a racer into a road bike and you have to curb the very things that made it a good racer. If T mode is as scary as hell where's the point in that. ? I've never liked or been fast on a bike that scared me to death.
Isn't that the point of the R1, not to imtimidate you so that u can use it's full potential.
I still wouldn't own an R1 but i get the testers point but i also don't believe in Motorcycle conspiracy theories either. That's dealer ********, they want to sell you a bike at the end of the day.
