RSV1000R Gen 2 For Sale

Reluctant sale on my lovely RSV1000R. I may well regret this but I’ve put a deposit on an MV and as I only ride about 1000 miles a year there isn’t time to use two bikes. I also club race an FZR400 which blew its guts last month so some thing has to give!

2005 – First registered 11/07/2005, 11,700 miles

I have owned this bike since July 2008 and covered approx half of the 11,700 miles on the clock.
It is a proper 2005 model with radial brakes rather than a late registered 03/04 model! It has full service history and includes a detailed print out of all of the work and servicing I have carried out as well as the stamped service book (I have previously mechaniced for an British championship 250 GP team and a British Supersport team running Ducatis).

The bike is completely standard except for the following:
• Carbon front mudguard
• Carbon rear mudguard
• Carbon wind deflectors
• Carbon side pannels
• Double bubble screen
• Jet 40 gearbox oil jet modification
• 15 tooth front sprocket

Tyres- good racetecs with 4mm tread on rear 3mm front
Good brake pads front and rear
Good chain and sprockets
Oil change every winter (so roughly every 1000 miles)
Regular (documented) changes of brake and clutch fluids
12 months MOT
Two Keys
Service book
Owners Manual (and CD with Workshop and Engine Manuals)

This is a 9 year old bike so although it looks very nice, there is the odd mark and the previous owner rode with motocross boots so there are some marks on the heel guards. It’s never been on the track (although the tyres are from a BSStk team so they have).

If you send me an email address I can send his res pictures (6-7mb each).

As well as being lovely, with low mileage and extras and very well looked after; it’s priced a bit lower than any 05 model I can find on ebay, Autotrader or MCN at £3,750.

It's being collected this week. I genuinely couldn't sleep last night. I tend to keep my road bikes for a while and become attached to them (I've had my '92 900ss since er, well 1992! even though it's blown 3 complete motors) and in some ways I'm already regretting the decision to sell, but I have also always wanted an MV F4 and it does look bloody gorgeous.

I wasn't trying to make anyone feel worse. I was just gutted I missed out on what looked to be a pretty well looked after, straight bike. I imagine it's probably still for sale at £4k in any case :)

No worries it's on the bay at £4,495! I knew I'd sold it to a trader so it was bound to appear for more. I don't know how much folk will pay though and I think he's overplayed it in the add; if I read that add and went to look, I would be expecting something a bit better (not massively but a bit better) than the bike I sold. Newer bikes than mine have gone for slightly less than I sold for but older ones are in dealers for much more. I think I got a reasonable market value when I sold so I can't complain.

My bigger worry is that I'm not really getting on with the handling of my MV F4 1000, which is proving a bit unpredictable at high road speeds (ok on track though) and it might have been a bit premature to flog the RSV!
