Hi,

need to buy myself an engine for 06 RSVR1000. i have the factory version but have been told by Griff that anything from 04-09 will fit perfect. found the dreaded (as i have been reading up) gold flakes in oil and the engine was swamped - oil on the spark plugs etc.

previously when i drove it had stalled on me with a crunching sound and has been parked for 3 years and i had lost both keys. Bike went in for 1st service, lock swap, hooked airbox, PCV, sprocket swap and custom exhausts for high mount (delkevics) but then the gold flakes were found.

I had only done 600 odd miles but luck really crap. rather than rebuild the engine which will cost me possibly more in labour Griff has suggested dropping another engine- therefore would appreciate if anyone can let me know if they have one for sale. If anyone has one with a big bore kit that'll be especially helpful :devious

much appreciated.

Hi,

I've got virtually a complete 06 engine here. Bought it from a pal who raced it in the Hottrax endurance series, was refreshed at the start of his season but from what I gather the clutch basket let go in his last race (after he'd won the championship) & temporarily locked the box. It freed off but he decided to strip the bike.

I bought it to rob the 1060 top end from it to put on my rack bike (sorry!) but I've got the old barrells & heads of my own 06, perfect nick having only done 2000 miles.

So it's all there, bottom end complete but will probably need stripping & cleaning out. No play or markings on the crank that I can see. If that's of interest, and we can agree a price, I'd gladly agree to renegotiate if on stripping there is more damage than anticipated.

HTH

:biggrin
