Have been meaning to post this for the last week, but have been out on bike grinning my little face off.

Sold my GSXR 1000 K5 to buy 07 mille in March and although the bike was alright, missed the K5 straight away. There will be some of the lads who know this, and have been preaching it repeatedly but i need to say it too. There are some pretty minor mods which make so much difference to this bike, it is like a Jekyll and Hyde type experience

Took the bike to Southern Cross Motorcycles in Kilburn London for its first service mainly on the good word of people on this forum. Brother also brought his. Whilst i was there i went the full hog and had the Renegade air box, power commander, and dyno. Finally swapped the 16t front sprocket for a 15t, as did brother.

Whilst there, the lads also give it the once over as well, and tweaked the suspension a tad for me.

Pick up is much lower down and torque feels more readily available, it revs up in town and no need to run in first, holds its line, knee down without any effort at all, doesnt squat down under load or pogo or any of the other bad things. Acceleration is awesome and i think better than K5 certainly in the lower gears. Oh yeah, and then theres the induction noise..... I have lost top end, but sold the K5 because i was going to jail doing the speeds i was doing. The bike is a joy. If there are any lads out there wondering how much of a difference this might make, just go and do it, it has made the whole Aprillia experience ten times that which it was last week. Both bikes are great and brother was equally chuffed and impressed.

On a final note, read all the other links on Southern Cross and you dont know if it is their mates, or their local etc. They are superb! The lads are all a great bunch, good for a laugh and a chat, a wealth of good info and bloody good mechanics!!! Thanks lads. Best service of any car or bike dealer that i have ever experienced........

I travel about 200miles round trip to get my bike serviced, mot'd and generally tweaked by Southern Cross, i only entrust Southern Cross and Rs3mille to the jobs on mine :thumbup

Get mine serviced at 'Jordon bikes' in Leeds..Their mechanic has 8 years experience on Aprilia..So far have not had any problems with them, bike runs sweet as a nut..They're not cheap though, mines coming up for its 12k service and they quote £300..

Hi
It's nationwide..Aprilia obviously trying to bolster sales..log onto 'Aprilia Experience'. pick your dealer and book a test ride, you just need to print off the confirmation they send you..Mines booked for sat 17th may at Premier.

I got my 06 from premier and I found them to be the most unhelpful bunch of t#@*s I have ever met, me been in the motor trade and dealing with suppliers all day now that’s speaks volumes, still waiting for my manual 18 months later:jack.
I also use Jordan bikes Leeds or cobb n jagger at Shipley, its good when you can speak to the engine driver n mechanics who work on your bike all good lads highly recommended
