I have just bought an rsv titanium race can for my 99 rsv and ordered a k&n filter. The bike is de-restricted and i am wondering will i need an eprom or will my standard one do if i get it re-mapped? Also will the bike need to be dyno'd? It is running fine with just the can but only been out on it for ten mins or so. New to the forum so any advice would be appreciated.

No you dont need a new eprom, eu spec bikes have a great chip from stock, the bike will run as good as it should.

But it newer hurts to get the fueling and timings optimized

Thanks, ive been told that my chip can not be mapped for my exhaust, posted another thread on this, do you know if it can or can't? Hearing so many different things, all from aprilia dealers surprisingly! Cheers.

No your standard chip cannot be reprogrammed for your 1999 model RSV, however your standard chip is perfectly fine for use with after market race exhaust and filter. Just make sure the bike is deresticted. Most are, some were missed. See here for derestiction proceedure
