Did you get that strap off Fleabay?
and what about the heat shield you were going to fit?
They are nice cans, Im pleased with mine aswell - really nice tone :thumbup

pics will follow along with another dyno chart !! :eatcorn

yep... got strap off E-Bay !! :thumbup

polished the writing off... eventually... probably would of took 5 mins with the right knowledge/equipment... took me 50mins & several bleeding knuckles !! :biggrin

very nice tone... i was sadly... actually 'You Tubing' Aprilia RSV Ti exhausts... to hear what they sound like... lol !! :biggrin

sh!t... got spoken to by 2 coppers today with the Ti pipe !! :-(

in Westminster police biker pulls me & says the can is taking the piss... didnt say anything about the 8x6 plate & said change it & then let me go with a roll of the eyes !! :)

1hr later at a red light in City with mate on back... police car pulls along side & says change the can today for standard one in a 'or else tone' !! :-(

it is abit too loud though for round Central London... plus this morning on choke... YIKES... @ 4000rpms... LOUD... especially when theres no other noise around !! :)

Aprilia RSV Ti race can... had 'FOR RACE USE ONLY' on link in half inch letters but they gone now... still... noisey is noisey !! :-(

LOL, the can i had before the RSV Ti can was louder.
I thought that the Ti can wasnt that loud, quite reasonable, lol
We dont get harrassed about things like that here :doug
My mate is running a 10" single can on his GSX1400. :pirate

But then I think the standard can is quite loud really. Obviously it would be nicer to my ears if it was louder, but I do often leave for work at 4am, so I have to have some consideration-- unlike the stupid Jade Goody-esque loudmouth gobshite over the back fence who was in her garden all night talking loudly. She's still out there, and the music started up at 8am too!!! I'm gonna wait for her to go to bed give her time to get to sleep, then mow the lawn!! Then use my power rake!! Then I'm sure I have to do something to my fence with a hammer and some nails!! And also clean my bike and leave it running after so it dries before I put it away.

well... got the bike on the dyno with the Ti... exactly the same as the standard can upto 7000rpms then LOSES 2.5bhp upto peak of 115.5bhp compared to standard 118bhp !? :-(

dyno guy said Ti can needs re-packing which can easily lose 5bhp apparentley !? :-(

I have the same can (ti) with no other noise you can hear it up to half a klm away but sofar the police here have been ok (france)

I bought a Ti can from someone for the princely sum of £60, it needed a repack which will probably cost you IRO £20-30, depends if you have a drillbit, rivet gun and pop rivets. My can was stupidly loud before I repacked it, when I got it apart it had alsmot no packing in it at all! Just a burnt up bit stuck in the end cap. I got some packing and rivets off eBay, the packing isnt loose, its sort of sewn together if that makes sense, into a roll, these twins are tough on their exhaust. I wrapped it pretty tightly around the core then taped it up with masking tape so it would fit into the sleeve, its important not to do it too tightly or you wont get the sound deadening effect.

just thought id finish this post off... after being rudely interupted by a moron in a Rover 200 not looking where he was going whilst reversing !! :jack

RED is standard de-baffled can... BLUE is Aprilia Ti race can !!

the Standard can has so far matched the GP exhaust & beaten the Ti exhaust !! :confused

good point... no... lol !! :biggrin

wonder whats the differences are between the RP58 & Ti chip... Mr Rossi !? :dunno

Your dyno results are interesting, thanks for posting them :thumbup
What do you meen by standard de-baffled can? have you modded it?
It would be good to find out which end can works best, other than the standard HOWITZER.

its a standard can but has been de-restricted (star shape baffle in link pipe) has been removed !! :thumbup

Did you repack the Ti? There are 2 different sorts, one with a large outlet and one with a smaller one. Apparently the smaller outlet is the quieter. I have the former and it's loud, but never had any problems with the 5-0. I have a Sil-Motor single side twin can that was on the bike originally and that was seriously loud.
