RSV-R fitting Scott Oiler

Hey Guys

i'm having a scott oiler fitted and a datatools alarm today onto my 07 RSV-R Bol'Dor rep. The mechanic is happy with the alarm but is unsure where to find the "vacuum pump"?

You guys know what he's talking about and where he might find said item? :dunno

Call these guys on 01424225224. They are Aprilia's official dealers and sold me my RSVR. They told me and showed me where and why the scottoiler fitted, so maybe they could tell you about it.

ahhh my mate google found the answer in the end. Just google "RSV-R Aprilia Scottoiler fitting".

The vacuum pipe/pump thingy is under the tank.


Sadly, my guy ran out of time so couldn't fit it which, is a bit of a bonus really coz now it gives me time to find one of the jazzed up ones, ya know, that look like coke cans n stuff.

:angry Bah! Can't find any on websearch of google or images search. I've scoured ebay as well

I'm begining to think the ones i've seen (in the flesh) were custom painted by there owners. Did look very cool though :doug

you don't need to paint the scottoiler. you can do what we use to do some years ago with rear shock remote reservoirs. get a can i had a red bull can on mine, cut the top and bottom off it to leave a tube. now cut the tube down its length. now cover the edges with gaffer tape and also the inside. this is to stop any damage. now rap the can around what ever you want to cove and fix.jobs a good'n.
apologies if none of this makes sense but just in from night shift and am not totally with it.

ACtually mate, it does make a lot of sense. I did something years ago on a an old two-stroke exchaust that had split. Covered it up with a bakebean tin, jubilee clips and some of that putty stuff.

Don't know why I didn't think of doing that for this!:dunno

Guys... All fitting instructions can be found on the Scottoiler website. They have Picts and a how to fit guide.

3 different kits available by the looks :thumbup

Has anyone had the xperience of using one of these oilers? Do they work? or do you end up with oil from ahole to armpit after a bit? I like a chain that is lubed...but it honestly scares me, the thought of an oiling system anywhere near my back tyre.

You can set the "feed" to the front sprocket rather than having pipes running over/under your swing arm. Mine works fine.irate

Sounds like the way to go..certainly feel more comfortable about it on the front than down the back for sure :thumbup
