why am i struggling to get £2700 for a MINT 03 plate RSV 1000 R with recent set of tyres, lovely aftermarket exhaust, dark tint double bubble, carbon heel plates and chain guard with only 13k miles . . ? Is there no market for RSV's no more? i am shocked . . I have a next bike waiting for me but i do not want to give this away, i thought this would be worth 3k all day long and i have already took £300 off, Its been on ebay 3 times with no joy . any suggestions? :dunno

post us the link to your ebay listing. maybe the problem is in your advert?

Kibb mate..........i know the feeling!! I've been trying to get rid of my (almost mint) BMW 525d M Sport for 6 weeks now with not a hint of a buyer!! Parkers value it at £6850, put it on at £6500 ono.........nothing!! Redused it 3 times now............still nothing!!

Now on EBAY with start price of £5000!!!! Hopefully it'll go now as need the cash to finish the garage!!

The arse seems to have fallen out of the auto market bud......:angry:angry

Stick some pics up on this post mate.......may help you to get a sale from someone on here.

Must admit, £2700 sounds a fantastic price for a good Mille ?? :dunno

Give it time, the motor trade is starting to pick up slightly.

As said before, it may be the advert that is putting people off.

I think private sales are tough at the moment as fewer people have lumps of cash sitting around to buy bikes or cars.
I see loads of private sale bargains but have only ever bought from a dealer as I appreciate the convenience and extra confidence.

Have you tried asking a dealer if he can put it in the shop for you? Pay the guy a fee to make it worth his while but suddenly you'll get a load of foot fall and he could possibly even work out a plan so that he can finance the buyer through Black Horse?

The dealer will get the money for the sale through and have to write you a cheque, but they'll also get their finance company kickback and it will possibly contribute to some sort of volume bonus?

that seems a reasonble price but seen 03 rsvrs go for 2500 when i was looking for my rsv..

rsv's are cheap and people are out hunting bargains at the mo..

i wanted a sp2 but went for an rsv as you can pick alot of bike up for very little money and its bargain time for buyers right now !!!

hope you sell it as i do think its worthe the money you are selling it for to the right buyer !!!

if you can hold out dont let it go for pennys but if not sorry to say you are gona loose money on it !!!

I think maybe you are hoping for just a bit too much. The latest Glasses guide I have to havd is March 09 and that give's shop retail as £3125 and trade as £1975. Now we're in September I expect a little lower. Maybe as a prive sale £2500 is more to the mark. I think I would struggle to sell it in my shop for £2995, I could put it up for that but would expect to have to take an offer of £2900 or even £2800. I'm sure its a great bike, and Ebay is never the place to get a good price.

I think it is a good price. Unfortunately, with the current financial situation people think twice before buying anything is not essential. I personally had to go for the basic mille version last year coz I couldn't afford the insurance for the R version. Still, 2700£ for the bike you are describing is a good price. Good luck with the selling.

its a buyers market i paid £3,500 for a 2004 rsvr factory with 4k miles, fsh, and receipts for £1,500 on the bike. buyer wanted £4,200originaly :thumbup

Paid £3200 March last year for an 03 R with radials & all the ohlins,10k miles & mint, the back tyre was low,but thought it was cheap from a Ducati main dealer, maybe he wanted to get rid of it as it was showing up all his stock
