RSV Model debarcle in 2003

Hello a newbie here. I have owned and loved my 2003 RSV for over a year now but would like some clarification on what Aprilla were playing at in this year. My 2003 bike was the last of the 'old shape' and is not the higher spec model up until 2003 known as the rsv-r. My registration document however lists it as a RSV 1000 R. I have been told that they changed the base model to R and the higher spec to Factory in 2003 EVEN for the older (and in my opinion better looking) stock. Anyone out there to confirm this?

Was this just a UK thing?

Can you stick a photo up mate, there are certain diferences that are easy to spot.

Mines on an 03 plate but the old 02 model.

Do you get to the wetlands? a couple of us do.

I used to work in North Shields and never heard of it!

Im not on Facebook mate, but just googled it and know exactly where that is.

Someone mentioned Zetlands a few weeks ago but I'd not heard of it till then. Think I'll stop in Washington...

Looked at this and my bike matches the one in the pictures exactly. It must be one of the 50 bikes diverted from the Japan market to the UK.

My bike is identical to the one shown in this thread except that it is completely standard.

There's some interesting/useful stuff to be discovered on the RSVZONE!

Is your bike also red like CRAZY LEG5 bike and does it have the JJ mark on the country code label under the seat?

It is Red Like yours and does have the JJ on the label! I have looked at the Pictures of the one on E-Bay and I would say it was identical to mine.

I think the 50 may have been in the same colours as available on the UK bikes of that time but not sure. Maybe Griff (fusebox) would know?
