rsv mille2001

As standard the early Gen1's have a bit of a dip (more like a crater) around 4k rpm, Redrats collector mod (a very well known mod) removes the dip almost completely (almost depending on other mods)

So here would be my list

Aftermarket airfilter - many options
ensure blue wire is cut
Forza chip for ecu
collector mod
decent end can

Throttle body rebalance
Check valve clearances

so all i have to be is cut the blue wire is that ok to do with standard chip in

There are 2 maps loaded on the chip in the ECU, the 2nd map (slightly better performance) is accessed by cutting a wire (commonly known as the blue wire) this allows the 2nd map to come into play.

The Gen 1 performance is enhanced by changing chips and different parameters that are loaded onto it.

To check you need to look at the wiring going into the ecu , there are two connector blocks , the wire if it has been cut is located on the bottom right of the left hand connector block when viewed from behind the bike.

16/44 sprockets will smooth it out a lot and give better acceleration, not to sure about top end though

Yes, as long as you are careful and take note of which way the old old comes out and remember to be gentle as the pins can be bent easily.

As above all the mods will give you a nice hike in midrange power ..approx 8-12 bhp depending on how lucky you are .maybe more

Rsv's suffer with dodgy cam timing out of the factory so actual power gains vary across different bikes with the same specs.

Also 2001 on models have the bigger valve heads as well so breath a bit better.

Let me know if I can assist with a modded collector just pm me but they really need a different chip to get the best

Forza aprilia are doing nice chips at the moment go to rsvr.net and post a thread up and ask him
