Well its that time of year again and my insurance is due. Just been looking at some quotes online and every time I enter my registration its bringing my bike up as an Aprilia STV 1000 Supersports ???? Instead of Aprilia RSV 1000 Supersports, anyone have any idea why or have experienced the same thing.

On the plus side a STV (whatever it is) is a fair bit cheaper to insure.

Mine came up as an RSV 1000 TUONO 00-03. Its an 04 rsv 1000r factory. The insurance quote doubled when I phoned them (Carole Nash) to point out their mistake before I purchased online. Sufice to say they didnt get my money

Carole Nash .... ha ha ha ... never had a good quote from them ... im 43 with max no claims and they still wanted £200 more than anyone else

Carole Nash are good on classic insurance though, I have my 2001 Mille on a five bike policy for £128 a year fully comp, it does mean that any additional bikes I get must be 10 years or older though.

Red mille mate that IS good!
Mind you we only have one arse dont we!
My v4 and 11 year old gs stumped me 350/400 each cos i need biz mileage on the gs.
They wouldnt let me use second bike on 2 bike policy for biz use, so i had to get two seperate policies, me gonna shop around alot more nect year.
Cheers ck

funnily enough mine is an STV 1000 as well (its a 2001 RSV ), rang them to inform them of their mistake( bennets ), only to be told it'll be another £30 thank you. anyway i cancelled the policy, the search goes on. btw what is an STV1000.

GORDY.

When you have 2 policies do you get to use your bike ncd on both or can you only use it once? I paid about 20% more to include class 1 biz use rather than just sdp and commuting.

Rob :)

No mate ncd only on my principal bike which is the v4, so i had to start a new pikicy with no ncd for the gs, hence it cost the same fully comp as the v4 with max ncd.
Robbing gits

yeah it was .. are they any good ?

No idea really. I was insured with them for a year because they were cheapest. Did not have to deal with them other than that. You only find out what insurers are like when you make a claim or have an 'issue'.
