RSV Fuel filter. Alternatives.

Hello again.
A little while ago I was asking the best place to buy acessories on line cus I needed a new fuel filter. The genuine Aprilia ones sell for between £22 and £36 plus postage. Im sure you can find one for less but they are expensive none the less so I asked if anyone knew an alternative....and got no answer.:dunno

So I took mine out and did a bit of measuring and found that the following filter will do the job.
They are all the same filter type but I have included all the manufacturers that I could find to give you the maximum chance to find one locally to you. They even sell them in Halfords called the the HFF232 but its nearly £13 in there and my local motor factor supplied me one for £8.73 delivered.....bargain.

Its a bit fatter and longer than the std one but theres plenty of space (a whole fuel tank in fact!!!) so it fits fine. The hose fittings are 8mm, same as std (at least that was the size on my 2001 RSV Mille R but its made by Italians so we could all have different sizes!!!).

Hope it proves useful for someone.

Nice one! It's always good to know what third party spares will fit.

But the big question is... did it fix your problem?

Cheers,
Mike.

Have not had a chance to bolt it all back together yet and try it!......the usual suspects....wife...baby...work!!!

Do we have an ''Alternative parts'' section on here anywhere?

If we don't here's a few for starters,if we do forget I mentioned it :dunno

I know we started one over on the Sv forum and it grew to quite a size,I would imagine with the price of Aprilia parts there must be a lot of cheaper alternatives out there.

I know that instead of buying brake & clutch levers from Aprilia you can get the same thing from a Duc stealership for a fraction of the price. Unfortunately I can't remember for sure what model Duc,but I think it was the 999 family.

There is also the Brembo caliper seal kits available curtesy of the KTM franchises.

the guy i bought my bike off told me fzr1000 discs are a straight swap on the early bikes
Not sure about that but there are loads of bikes that use the same 320mm Brembos - my track wheels use two Cagiva Mito discs - I've got a list somewhere.

Hey bud, thanks for the list!!! it helped me a lot. sadly none of those are easy to find in Malaysia, I did however got a K&N replacement "PF-1100".

Good thread that, nice work mate. I have tracked a Nissan one down on ebay for about £6, better than £20 odd, will help pay for an oil change too.
