Hi guys

please could one of you point me in the wright direction?
I have purchased a spares or repair 2002 rsv 1000
I got it running at the weekend after finding the earth strap to the side of the engine was kaput!!
Problem is now its running it runs very lumpy and when I tried to rev it past 4k it really didn't like it and then cut out!!
it started up fine again after but still the same wont rev past 4k.
not sure how old the fuel is so I was thinking maybe that for the lumpy running but not sure for the 4k cut out?

help would be much appreciated
thanks

Drain the tank and try fresh fuel ,but maybe the dodgy earth strap has helped cook the stator giving voltage issues?????

Hi still no luck checked all voltages and they are fine also new fuel and a new set of plugs but still the same it's almost as if the bike runs out of puff at 4k.
Please help

Know anybody nearby with an rsv you can steal the ECU from?.... Have you tried playing ith the bypass screws etc on the throttle bodies?post over on af1 our American friends are bound to have an answer

just to update a friend lent me their ecu today plugged it in no change still wont rev past 4-5k.
spoke with griff at aprilia performance he said to try adjusting throttle potentiometer gonna try Wednesday when back at work.
Big thanks to Griff what a nice guy really helpful on the phone

may have just discovered something while reading other threads I remember after we put the bike back together I could see a shiny part of the throttle body showing above the intake boots and after looking at more picks im pretty sure mine arnt seated correctly. do you think this would cause the bike not to rev past 4-5k due to the injectors pointing slightly in the wrong direction?

okay update since I last posted I have done compression test (all good) tested the coils changed complete throttle bodies complete with injectors tps maf and regulator, checked to make sure the woodruff key was all ok and the ignition timing hadn't been upset still the same wont rev past 5k and still get the odd pop back through the throttle bodies.......
please help am running out of ideas

Lids off next then!
I would check the cam timing as some numpty could have been in there and got it one tooth out or something.
Or fuel pressure?
