Rossi still is a winner...BUT, he's on the wrong machinery in the wrong era... I remember the first time I saw him race (live) at Donington in 2002, end of the 2 stroke era with him on the V4 Honda...the b'stard just kept playing with the other bikes, putting his front wheel by their side at every corner in a 'I'm here, hello' routine until he just went for it and fukt the whole field. I don't believe he is a spent force and would expect him to come back next season with a better bike (Yamaha will up their game) and decent tyres (Bridgestones)...I also hope that the level of electronic management will be reduced as this will allow the 'real' riders to shine.....we watched the bikes at Assen last year and all they seem to do is open the throttle wide and let the engine management do the rest...not racing as far as I'm concerned! However, even if Rossi did not win another race he will go down as one of the all time greats of Bike racing...due to his dominance in all classes......particularly as an Aprilia rider in his early career!!!Top Man!
