Mite give it a go next summer :pirate

Badger has done it, few of us went to watch him. Track looks okay do not know if i would do it with all the other great circuits around the area.

In all my time ive never done a track day so im looking into maybe having a go with some others who have never done it either , or at least go and have a look to see what its all about. Roll on summer and see what happens eh, maybe there will be a get together at the track :dunno

Have a look at nolimitstrackday, thye are a good bunch to do a track day with.. Well organised and they do free instruction great bunch of guys that really look after the new riders with one on one instruction:thumbup

Going to try and arrange one for the site, block book some spaces and get a couple of garages hopefully get southern cross to come along with his race bike and some goodies, and of course some t shirts and fleeces for those that want to look good:thumbup looking at Cadwell early spring/summer:thumbup

I did not find it that exciting really as far as being interesting, very flat with no undulations and a bit bland, but in saying that there are worse circuits in the UK.

Hope i am not painting a bad picture of it coz i am comparing to the likes of Oulton/Cadwell, Brands etc., it would be fine for your first track day, it is pretty tiring as you are either on the throttle or braking hard, there is only really one very short straight where i was getting up to only 119 mph, so there is nowhere to rest.

All that being said, get along and do it, because you will enjoy it immensely,

Sound ok , hope theres not too much p*ss taking at the newbies :lol on the first track day although we all have to start somewhere , and hopefully not in the gravel :thumbup

Don't fret or worry about it mate, you will get there and wonder at lunchtime what all the nerves were about, nobody will take the piss coz we all have to start at the beginning, go out with a view to take your time and build speed, DO NOT TRY TO GO TOO FAST TOO QUICKLY, do two full laps and get your tyres warm before getting up to your full speed, grab an instructor for your third or fourth session, don't do it at the start, if you leave it till later in the day you will have learnt the track a bit and will get more out of the instructor.

Drink plenty of water and don't eat a load of crap food, apart from that just get it booked and enjoy:biggrin

Cheers badger, i guess they will run through how your bike needs to be set up like tyres and stuff or is that a personal preference thing :confused. Im all up for a go and have quite a bit of confidence , but not sure about it all just yet as of course it will be my first time at it.

Would be a good idea to watch and learn first i suppose, one step at a time :thumbup

At most of these track days they have suspension pros that will set your bike up for £40, you have their services all day for that, set tyres at 30 psi back and front and don't forget to put them back if you are riding home, not a bad idea to go and watch to see the procedures, then it wont be strange to you on your day when you go, there really is nothing to get wound up about, if you are confident it will all fall into place once you get on the track, i repeat don't try and go too quick too early or you will not be smooth and will make mistakes, concentrate on smoothness and using the correct lines and it will all fall into place later in the day if you stick to that advice:thumbup

You know how it is you always see and hear of the trackdays but never get to make the move to have a go, i hear the bikes at rockingham all through the summer . Ive been riding for over 20 years now and ive got a lot of road sense and can handle the bike at any stage but im sure i would benefit from a track day or two to offer me more about lean angles, entry and exits and so on .
It would be nice if a few more like minded peeps as myself would come along and all give it a go and it would be less intimidating if we all started off as newbie track day people :thumbup. Ill take a look and see what i think and no doubt take the plunge :thumbup

Hi Steve,

Did Brands Indy Circuit on Thursday in the rain on my KTM Supermoto, its a great track would recomend for the mille, can't wait til next year will be taking my mille there might even have ago at the full circuit. Snetterton is also another good track, 2 long straights so you can go pretty quick.

Chris
