So another member for this now... :-[

Suddenly realised that i had not been on to tell everyone of my recent unfortunate experience. :exclamation

So... i had enjoyed a lovely august bank holiday weekend (i was rocking out to the rock gods of reading :D). Came back home and got ready for a normal day at work on Tuesday. Got up got the bike out, wow still good weather... :jump and started the normal commute to work. All seemed to be going well. Comfortably cruising round the ring road, just approaching the Bromley Heath Roundabout and i noticed that the two lanes that continue round on the ring road were already backed up. so decided to take the left hand lane. Mirror signal and start to move to the left hand lane. No problem. Happily filtered past the static cars, all of a sudden a guy in a vw passat suddenly decides he doesn't want to be in his lane but wants to be in my lane.... right where i am... no looking, no signals... just pull out :yikes. so i slammed on my breaks trying not to plough into the side of his car... seemed to be a good idea... only front locked up, launched me over the bars, and continued to flip over on top of me... great clout to my back, my head, and my right leg.

Fortunately the car did stop... apparently only because he wondered why there was a bike cartwheeling down the ring road behind him... one of the witnesses at the scene kindly pointed out that this was because he had completely cut me up... knocking me off... so he kindly said... wait for it...

"Really??? Sorry mate... didn't see you there....." :jack

so i am now off the bike for a while... fractured right knee cap, muscle a ligament damage to my right leg... and muscle trauma and strain to my back... ???

although saying that... not much use even if i didn't sustain these injuries as the millie has now been written off too.... :'(

all in all a great little trip to work.... bloody car drivers.:angry

Sorry to hear that, glad your injuries aren't too bad though. Could have been a lot worse.

I take it his insurance company will be buying you a replacement Mille then?

Don't forget to claim for loss of earnings if you can't work.

I had a near miss yesterday, lucky for me the only thing damaged on the bike was my rear tyre. Huge flat spot now, looking at replacing them anyhow with some Corsa 3's ready for next summer.

Can't imagine my Super Corsa Pro's would have been much good on damp roads in the winter.

Sorry to hear about you and this tosser :jack
totally his fault - claim for new lid, leathers, boots gloves etc as these cannot be used again (took the hit for you) and as its his fault he's liable for your kit too the tosser:angry

Yeah well gutted, but i'm on the mend now...

yeah defo looking forward to nice new one and the expense of his insurance... so something to look forward to!!!

yeah sounds like it might be a plan mate... i made the mistake of leaving renn sports on over the winter once... that was a learning experience...

unlucky least your ok the old never seen you gag the :jack take him the cleaners:thumbup

Bad luck mate, are the police involved :dunno **** should be done for careless driving :rant

Don't forget the classic 'whiplash'. That's at least a couple of grand. Feck it, you might as well try the old stiff neck routine!! Can you get that from cartwheels?! I'm tryin' to get you up to a new Mille by the time they've paid out!

Get better soon mate and don't do too much, too soon. Those knees take some fixin'.

Sorry to hear about the bike mate, glad you never got knocked up too badly yourself tho.
I hope you pocketed the name and address of that nice witness of yours mate...they are worth their weight when it comes to the other fools lies..eg, he says you were travelling too fast etc. Also hope you have a police report...then as said above..take him to the cleaners for the lot.
Cheers :D

Bad news mate but at least your here to tell the tale, good luck on getting better mate and hope that ligament damage aint too bad,

That squire is a bastardos! As already said, the best news out of all this is that you are here to tell the tale and hopefully your recovery will be a speedy one and won't keep you down for too long :thumbup

Best of luck with the claim and keep on top of the progress. You don't want your insurers dragging their heels when you pay good money for their premiums. Hopefully this is the one chance you'll ever need to make them work for their money for you for a change!

So what's the damage? Is the bike totally ******?

How long are you looking at being laid up?

Sorry to hear that mate. As a guide, i just pocketed 1,300 quid for a bit of mild whiplash when some geezer punted my old Audi in the rear so you should be looking at a lot more. Get well soon.

Considering your injuries and the prick has admitted he was wrong, I would be looking at a new Factory 08.

go careful here dude, ive been waiting since feb to resolve a similar incident, cept i hit him square on the side of his car. Its only when he commits pen to paper and has total memory loss, that you find he only said sorry becuse he was intimated by the big butch biker, and he checked his mirrors, windows and weather forcast before moving and suddenly you appear from nowhere at warp speed, disguised in black unseeable clothing that make you the invisible man, and your bike looked ok at the scene etc etc etc

thats y a said i hope he has that witness in very close proximity..i'm guessing he may need em.
