Hi chaps,

Was involved in a collision tonight, quite annoyed about it really. Was riding along when the car in front decided to turn left into another road, no problem, i slowed down and as he was turning (with plenty of room on my side of the road) i tootled on past, 15 - 20mph. Unfortunatly for me a car waiting to turn right pulled out and straight into me, knocking me and the bike onto the otherside of the road, i was very lucky that nothing was coming the other way. Just been back to look at the bike and it looks fairly cosmetic, both end cans have been damaged, r/h fairing, mirror etc, but she started up which was a massive relief. Gonna get a mate to hopefully ride it back to mine later today.

I have a broken collarbone and abit of bruising but other than that nothing. Was looking forward to thundersprint this weekend too. :angry

Bloody hell Ryver hope you heal ok  They should ban junctions they're the bain of a bikers life. Were you overtaking on the junction :dunno bit naughty if you were matey but it'll be a good lesson to us all to be extra careful out there, only takes a moment for car drivers to be unobservant of bikes and were done for. Thankfully you got away relatively lightly...Catch a bus to Thundersprint and I'll get you a brew :thumbup

Sorry to hear that Ryver - I hope you & the bike are back to strength soon.
Gotta have eyes all over yer head these days eh? It's quite often the simple, slow unsuspecting moments like these that cartch us out. I've got to say that I'm probably too cautious sometimes in these situations, but you can never tell when some plonker isn't going to register a bike, even when they look straight at you.
Get well soon squire.

get well soon mate, you never know if the car turning left has flashed the other car on in front of him, theyve got the radio on kids in the back and wallop, not saying thats whats happened but take nothing for granted.

Sorry to hear that..But that scenario is a classic.. Was out last week, when I could have overtaken in exactly the same way, but hung back and sure enough a car pulled out and turned right..We need to be on our toes as in that position we may as well be invisible.

Hope you're back riding soon..

Glad the damage to you and the bike was fairly minor. :thumbup

Make sure you rest the arm with the broken collar bone well as it’s a pain if it doesn’t heal; im looking at a bone graft from my hip now to fix mine :(

Sorry to hear aboout your spill. I hope you and the bike are back together soon!

Get well soon fella, glad it wasn't too bad, sounds like the bike's easily fixed and you're already on the mend. All the best :thumbup
