just joined the zone and could do with some advice.i recently bought an 02 rsv mille with akro mono titainium race can with chip and the rev limiter comes in at around 9700revs with the efi signal flashing on the dash, is this normal cos i wos told a standard bike is set at 10500revs. ps.this is my first rsv!.

Hello and Welcome:thumbup

EFI on dash should not be showing.:dunno could be a few things. water in speedo sensor etc...

Rev limiter can be changed manually on the dash to suit the rider individually i think or as 3 differerent presets.

6,000rpm
10,500rpm
and Max.

That's my ten pence worth.:pirate

HI mate you can set it as much as you like mine is set at 11500 as that red light dose my head in flashing all the time some say they are set at 9.500 to low for me any way welcome mate loads of help and advice on here:thumbup:thumbup

its the engine rev limiter not the red light on the clocks , i didn't think they were connected. i am sure the engine hits the limiter at 9700revs even if the needle is set at 11000revs ,thought it might be the akro chip

Welcome to the forum first, pretty good bunch of people on here!

With regards to your rev limiter coming in at 9700rpm and the EFI displaying on the dash - Firstly, pull the side vent/cover off that is by your right knee when sat on the bike, you'll see two bullet connectors just hanging loose.

Make sure the ignition is off, connect these two wires, turn the ignition on and see what is displayed on the right LCD display.

I suspect that you TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) may be out of adjustment or another sensor may be malfunctioning.

If this all proves to be OK then your EPROM may be faulty and you may need to speak to DrRossi (Alain) on here about a tailored chip to suit your bike set up.

Hope this helps, come back to us with the results.

thanks mate i just don't know if thats how it should be , i tried the diagnostic connection and -1 came up, any ideas!

Yeah, TPS sensor is out of adjustment.

Do a search or look at the manual in the file vault for how to do it, really simple to adjust.

Hope that it is just a case of a poorly adjusted TPS.

thanks for your help , didn't know what -1 meant cos i have no manual , bought bike cat c for track days but it's only very light scuffs on right hand side. got a cd manual off ebay but can't see -1 fault code.

The manuals are free and are available in our file vault, god I hate the people on Ebay that sell these manuals.

It's a case of slackening off the TPS screws and twisting it until it reads zero on the dash, it's all in the manual with piccies etc....

For the file vault, look at the very top of the screen your viewing now, scan right and look at the small wording under the RSV Zone logo in white.
