right after trawling the forums for a better side stand i read that a 2007 fireblade will fit straight on and is much better and indeed it does fit even the side stand switch has a hole in the correct place for its spiggot so all works well. The only thing i did find was that when the stand was flicked up it did fowl the body slightly, so i broke out my welder and put a small spot on the stand to act as a bump stop and problem solved so it is all now spot on, has a better centre of gravity as the new stand steps out further from the bike and the lean angle is better too, i took comparison pictures today but i dont know how to post them so if any one is interested let me know how i do it and i will make up a guide of sorts.:devious
if you can track one down i think its the 2006-08 side stand i used the stand, spring (it shorter and need to be) and the bolt, its the blade with the underseat exhaust.
hope this helps some one atleast cos the standard E.U stands on the RSV is utter turd i find and was always scared of her falling over and have read of many doing this so if it stops one more im happy.:biggrin
