Just got round to replacing the gearbox jet (cheers dr rossi) and I am having trouble removing the original. Can undo it to the point that its turning loose but cant extract it from the hole. Does anyone have a trick to removing it? Any help would be much appreciated

Find a screw driver that is tight in the jet40 slot - electrical ones fit well. Retighten the old one with this, when you then loosten it it should come out stuck on the screw driver

another vote for the wooden toothpick. Shove it the hole and pull it out.

Also use the ttothpick for putting the new one in and getting started in the thread. That way its really difficult to cross the thread.

i wouldnt bother with the toothpick for fear of blocking the jet going in but i did mine last night and used a strand of wire to get the old one out and the jet 40 slot was tight on the screwdriver so no problems going in

a length of thin solder wire - make the end into a small eyelet and use it to loop around the old jet.

cheers people, top suggestions, will give a go at the weekend when i get home

When i did mine i ran the engine to running temp left it for 15 and then unscrewed the jet ,there was some pressure behind it which spat it out .a little oil comes out but not loads (negligable) fitted new one with a well fitting screw driver all done in 2 mins :thumbup

PS NEW JET DOESNT HAVE TO BE MEGGA TIGHT JUST GO EASY ITS ONLY SOFT METAL ..........

DONE!!!!!!!!!! tooth pick to extract screwdriver to put in. thanks once again
