I can get a cheap petrol tank, great condition, the colour I need with only 1 but...
The flange for the petrolpump assy is disformed:

Does anyone know if this can be easily repaired?

Cheap Acs silicone is petrol resistant, and is also marketed as agasket sealant for a higher price of course.

Just allow full 24hr cure otherwise the acetoxy silnants it gives off when curing will contaminate the fuel.

Did mine 2yrs ago no leaks since

Thanks Paul, I gather the silicon stuff you are talking about is the one we use in kitchens and bathrooms too?
Will probably go for a combination of sanding and extra sealant to be sure.
Now just hope the fuel pump is a 1 on 1 replacement with the one from my metal tank.

We used to supply the hylomar to halfords in fact used to supply all the sealants, epoxies and anaerobics.
