I'm now on my 3rd headlight on my 2002 RSV Mille as they seem to be very vulnerable to scratches and stone chips.
I have finally got a clear headlight protector, but before fitting wanted to repair the chipped and scratched headlight. Found this on the web, which gives a guide to removing scratches from acrylics:

It took some patience and time, but I now have a headlight that looks like new, the main thing is to ensure the grade of paper you are using gets rid of all scratches made from the previous (coarser) grade of paper.
If you try this with your headlight, then it's at your risk, just be sure to allow a few evenings and don't rush!
