Hi Guys,

Finally got round to fitting my Renegade Airbox earlier this week but have only just had a chance to test it. Bike starts but simply doesn't tick over properly. It tries to idle between 800 and 1000 revs and constantly stalls/ backfires.

Now i acknowledge the fact that i believe it's currently on map 1 and my Bazzaz unit has not been tuned (although it does come with an 02 sensor eliminator) but i was hoping it would at least run, so i could get all this work carried out in the next couple of weeks.

Is there a way to temporarlily adjust the tickover so that it'll run, as i don't want to have to pull it apart again?
Are there any sensors around the airbox that aid in the tickover?

did you connect all the pipes up properly specifically the thin plastic tubes from the throttle bodies too the air solenoid usually clips under the air box

Hi mate ,didn't want to hear this as I'm ordering mine tomorrow lol, what's this bazzaz thing? Hope you sort it,if you find out what it is,post it on this thread mate if ya don't mind just incase I have problems, tash has been very helpfull with me so far in sorting me out.

Well, officially user error. Eddie, you had it spot on, thanks, you've saved me much swearing & cursing. One of the air solenoid tubes was bent double by the throttle body connector. It's all a bit tight under there but i think i've managed to reroute the offending pipe out the way for now.

The bike is now ticking over happily and ready for a commute into work tomorrow & hopefully the long route home.

RSVR2000, Airbox is a doddle to fit, the only issue i had was that the bolt holes for the velocity stacks weren't counter sunk, which meant that the airbox didn't fit flush with the throttle bodies. It was an easy fix as the carbon is pretty thick at that point and 5 minutes with a counter sink bit had it sorted.

A Bazzaz is like a power commander but comes with quick shifter and traction control all in one. Seems to be a funky bit of kit but mine isn't being setup on a dyno for a couple of weeks.

Thanks for that mate,I'm sure I'll see how it is when it arrives, hopefully I've got the bits to sort it.how does it sound now it's fitted??? I havent got a power commander or anything like that, might have to invest in one,I'm running a renegade chip and a mivv exhaust,it had the wire snip and airbox mod when I got it,it's running abit rich now so this renegade kit should help it abit

The sound is totally addictive... When you press the start button, you can hear it gulping in great chunks of air. On tickover, for some reason it sounds quieter than before but on the move, it is immense.

Without question, well worth the investment.

Mines ordered this morning hope it's worth it,everybody raves about this noise it gives.

I'm going to have to wait a couple of weeks for mine..... Mark has none in stock for Gen2!!! :(

I'm doin some hard research on them,I'm a little unsure as to what happens with the breather, apparently they supply a longer pipe to go over front sprocket, but not sure about this, also the little breather filter it comes with fastened to the carbon plate, what goes into that? Who's fone what with it??????

The existing breather pipe needs removing and the new pipe connects to the crank case and then to the small filter on the carbon plate.

Ahh right I get it,how come people are doin all other things with it if it's supplied with the kit? Thanks for the help mark, very helpful,
