Just back from a run,went to switch engine off with the key,but it kept on running even with key out the ignition,had to use kill switch.also temperature kept rising and fan didn't kick in.anyone help please.

I have an 04 rsvr factory...same issue...will be the immobiliser that is at fault ( happened to mine
) ...I got mine repaired by breaking it open then re soldering all the connections to the circuit board. Search rsvr immobiliser issues and all will come to light. Mine worked then okay for about a year then suffered battery drain issues and intermittent blinking on the immobiliser dash light...also the main fuses under the seat getting very hot !......solution, by pass the immobiliser and all works great now. I got the by pass done by a local shop in my village after he saw many rsvr's with electrical gremlins......I don't know how to do it as it's best not to have that type of info on the web but I can give you his numbers if you wish......
