You need a "push to make/push to break" switch so that you push once and the wires are reconnected and push again to disconnect...............simples :biggrin

Yep but errrrrr...........if I accidently forget to push the switch on the road and the expert takes a look he can see straight away that i have a switch on.

Can't see why that wouldn't work. Also it can be hidden well out of the way so no "Switches" can be seen. Will be a simple enough fix:thumbup

Or, put a plug under the seat with a bridge connector on it - a bit like the ones they use for neutralising some alarm systems. Plugin/out for instant power.

yeah your right

Any ideas what i need cum switch.?

Cheers

Tim

ps perhaps i could just hide it behind the side panel :devious

PPS If i did put a switch would be be a problem for resistance?

Build a little electronic motor-operated ram - radio controlled stuff is good - that raises the plug out of the hole when you want full power ... or just throw it in the bin and ride the feckin' thing!:roll

Tim, whats the chances that they would stop and check this? How would they do it? - mobile Dyno?? - same day or confiscate?

C :thumbup

I dont think they can stop you like that but if I stick it in the hedge it goes to the Aprilia Dealer and they will send an expert out to look at the bike to see if it is restricted or not.

OR

I injure someone and the bike is found out to be derestricted ...............I am in the **** big time.

Saying that 99 percent of people with 1000s ride derestricted anyway.

Tim,

Don't use a switch as that's too obvious mate, use an inline fuse holder instead.

Fuse in = connection = Map1
Fuse out = disconnected = Map 2

Simples :thumbup

So if you stuff it in a hedge or hit someone are you going to have time to 'throw' the switch or replace the fuse while they're carting you off to hospital?

What Tim means is a 33Bhp restrictor as the standard Frogs 100 Bhp is still waaaaaaaaaaaaaay tooooooo much for him :nana

Tim take out a spark plug or summat it'll work just fine .......

Hi guys !
I survived the Ardeche.
Are you sure it's only the eprom?
I bet the restictor in the airbox is one of the major ways to keep it at 100 HP.
But if you need to make a switch between map 1 and 2.
Make a relay in the ecu housing that connects on default and by pushing a button it disconnects and selects map 2.
That way you always have map 1 on start up.
Just cut the connector lead inside the ecu.

Cheers

Yeah could always eat as many pies as you have .....that way the bike would be restricted to 40bhp
