Registration Plate with RSV!

Hey, i have a Honda CBR 125 and im think of taking of the number plate and selling it to an Aprilla RSV owner. Its a 55 plate and the last 3 letter are RSV, i think it would be better suited to an Aprilla and if you bikes older than 2005 it'll make in look newer.

Just wondering if anyone would be interested in buying it.

Could be some interested folk here but the DVLA / VRO rules for registration transfers state that the recipient vehicle cannot be older than the age of the donor vehicle. So in essence, you can't actually make an older Mille appear to look like a newer one by transferring a newer age related reg plate onto an older bike.

Ahh right didn't know that, guessing a 2005 or newer bike is ok, or is it just a 2005 registered bike

Any bike from the date of your registration onwards will be able to have your reg transferred to it m8, so yeah - 2005 onwards.

I didnt think you were allowed to transfer normal plates?

You can transfer any plate you want as long as the donor and recipient vehicles meet the criteria.

Been offered £350 on a valuation website, but that was computer generated and can't see the significance in the number plate. Might get it off through dvla and get it on eBay

Ahh ok, what happens to the original bike? Does it get a new plate?

Yes dvla change all the log books and tax disc to a new reg and send you a certificate to have new plates made
