Recommended Rubber

I'm after some new rubber for my bike. Is there anything that comes recommended? I'm a road rider, stick to fair weather (unless I get caught out), mainly the twisty roads. Rather quality than wear as I don't do big miles. Thanks for all your help! I've heard good things about Dunlop Sportsmarts.

I got sportmax gp racers and they are sticky as a sticky thing, really really planted on the bends! 190/55 rear too but would like to try a 180 for faster turn in.

pireli diablo corsas or pilot powers 2cts bud ,180 or 190 ive got both on my bikes and dont find the 180 any faster to turn in ,im sure the dunlop has a strange front profile . but the diablo corsas are the biz mate why pay too much if you dont need to

To be honest all modern tyres are good enough for the average rider. I run Maxxis SuperMaxx's as money is tight but when funds permit I would run sportsmarts, everybody has an opinion and everybody's tyres are better than the last persons and so forth.

I've tried both Pirelli Corsa III, and Michelin Pilot Power. Both have good grip in the dry. The Michelin seems to turn quicker, but the Pirelli has more feel....both good, though.

I ended up going with the Pirelli Diablo Rosso II's. Took two forums, two tyre specialists and a bit of research but I'm happy. Will spend today scrubbing them in and then I'm going to push myself to do a track day, bit nervy, but what's life if you don't live it right?!

Hi,

Probably a bit late to contribute, but I had Dunlop Sportsmarts and they were excellent on longevity/mileage. I wanted a bit more 'feel' from the front, and like you did loads of reading. Ended up with the new Conti Sport Attack 2's. I have had them for a month now and I really rate them. Fantastic warm up, lots of feel in the corners, and having been caught in the rain this past week or two, can also vouch for wet weather performance.

I don't know if anyone is looking for new tyres but Fast Bikes in the UK has just released a magazine with a seriously detailed tyre test in it, 14 different tyres from Avon, Bridgestone, Continental, Dunlop, Metzeler, Michelin and Pirelli! Makes for a good read.
