Rear Wheel locked up

I have a 2006 Caponord and the rear wheel locked up out of the blue. It stalled the engine so I started it and it did it again. I shut the bike off, restarted it went through braking both front and rear levers, engine and chain are fine. Rode it 15 miles at slow speeds to test ABS (on and off). Can't get it to do it again.
Could the ABS have hickuped then reset when I turned off the bike. Obvioulsy need to figure it out before taking it out again. any thoughts?

probably not the answer but any chance you changed down into too low a gear too quick? It can be done quite easily wi these V Twins....big engine braking there.

Done it a couple of times on the Tuono where its stalled by coming down too many cogs too quickly. However feeels like its more an engine management ignition fuelling thing thats stalling it rather than physicaly the rear locking causing the stall.
