Hi, im an rsv forum noob.
i have a 2001 RSV Mille :thumbup
I would like to know what is the best size rear tyre to run on these bikes as there seems to be a choice to run 180 or 190 width.
Also has anyone used bridgestone BT014s and have an opinion on them.
Thanks.
econobiker.

just put a 180 on mine had a michlin 190 and it rubbed on the chain not good

Welcome mate, I bought mine with a 190 on, tried a 180 and never went back. 180 turns quicker in my opinion. Not tried the Bridgestones (although hearing good things about them) - Mich Pilot Powers for me.

180 on mine. came from running a 190 on my zx9 and wow you can notice a diffeence in corning.
014's never used but I mainly ran BT021's good all round tyre. managed to get 6000 plus on my rear :) that included a 800 mile tip to IOM :) well please.

On 2001 model the rear is 180/55 and yes it turns quicker than 190/50.

The profile of 180/55 is better more rubber on side, however, maybe the 190/55 is even nicer, but i do not know weather it "fits"

180/55 is rather common size and tends to be a little cheaper.
Just purchased 180/55 Michelin Pilot Power 2CTs for mine. Will swap the Pirellis to Michelins when the "groove" tarmac in spring has eaten the Pirellis away.

We do have winter tires with studs here at our end and they eat tarmac ;)

I have a '00 model and the 190/55 fits no problem, running standard 525 chain too!!

180 alltough Aprilia gives you the choice between 180 and 190 according to their manual.

for the looks ;go 190 for quick steering 180

180 might be a bit more nervous , but you won't notice exept when you're autobahnburning ....

Thanks for your help.
I think im going to hunt for a cheap Bridgestone Battlax Bt014 180/55.
Sounds like the best choice based on your opinions, hell if i hadnt have asked id just have stuck annother 190/50 on.

blah blah blah 180 turns in quicker:sleepy:sleepy:sleepy
fooking rider thats what counts:devious:devious

My bike came with a 190 and after some ''advice'' i changed it to a 180 and it made no fcukin difference what so ever, so its 190s for me as they look better :thumbup
