Rear swinging arm

I know in your fountain of knowledge you will know this.

How do you identify if the rear swinging arm has been upgraded as in the recall.

I was talking to a dealer and he said that it is still a free of charge recall even now so if mine has the old one I can get it done by him free so he will check by the vin number to see if mine has been done but a lot of doggy dealers booked them as done but did not do them so he can indentify for me.

This guy is obviously a good guy but I would like to check it myself first so I am sure someone out there knows how to identify this:dunno

it was a recall on 04 & some 05 bikes

If its a pre recall swing arm the toe protector guard bolts to the swingarm & this is where the crack forms

If its post recal swing arm the toe protector is secured to a bar which is part of the chain guard mounting

think i've explained it right
sure someone will be along to add to this & with pics

Mick yours is a 2002 model if i'm correct. The swinging arm recall only affects the newer RSVR and Factory 2004/2005 models
