rear suspension + headlight

hi all

i have a mille r 2003
is there such a thing as a servicing kit for rear suspension i dont mean the shock its self but the bottom assembly (dog bone) after reading a few posts on here and looking at mine i feel it should be done. so if there is a kit where would i get it from ?
also can i get a new lens for my headlight as the one on there now is cracked or is it a whole assembly job and again where to buy it

hi Griddy .

not sure about a service kit for the shock , but i am pretty sure the headlight is a sealed unit Aprilia lists the replacement as a whole unit and i can imagine it would be a mare to brake the seal and get it right on refitting

You can order all the bearings and seals from simply bearings. The bearing ref is HK1812 and you want the nitrile rubber seals 18/24/3. You'll want 3 pairs of each. It's a good idea to get some Teflon washers to take some of the float out of the dog none and prevent it rubbing on the plates. The washers will need an 18mm bore so they fit around the bearing pins, not between the pin and plates. I think it cost my about 30 quid for the bearings and seals. The bearings are caged rather than loose like the originals but this really is no detriment.

That's a good kit and a good price as it includes the bearing centres which are a tenner each if you buy them separately.

S/H ones (eg fleabay) tend to be damaged.
