I went to 16/44 on standard chain and it just fitted ok and was a lot better then standard gearing. Still no where like my honda blackbird i had before it,but the sound makes up for that.
I had a cbr600rr from new when they came out, first small bike i have had, and i would say the performance is the same.Still getting to grips with mine , i think its the right amount of power for the road and feels fun and noise great, not slow but wouldnt say they are fast by todays bikes, who needs it,fast enough for me.

15/43 should be OK with standard chain, ran 15/43 on my 01R on standard chain:thumbup

thanks guys, think santa has a new sprocket for me then ..

just ordered my 15/42 as getting a good price 44 was a pain in the arse. does that mean im not going to feel much difference?

15/42 is about the same as 16/44. If you are got from a 16 to a 15, you will feel a difference, but it won't be like night and day.

I went from a 42 to a 44, about the same as going 16 to 15.

I went to 16 front first, that was ok, but then went to 44 rear and thought the difference was huge :devious

Standard for 2000 model is 17/42

currently running 16/44 in 520 format..anyone run 15/44..how does it holeshot outta the corners? are the wheelies over the top or still smooth?

Oli, you sure it's a 41 tooth as that is a very unusual size, most sprockets are 42 and up for these Mille's, the easy thing is buy a 43 and that will be as far as you can go probably on a standard length chain, one tooth less on the front is approx. equivalent to going up two on the back.

I have in my box a 15 & 16 front and a 42/43/45/46 and 47 rear.

yeah 100% 41t with 15f, bike just seems a lazy..will order a 43t and see how we go..guess i just like them zippy, my blade was -1 +4, kwak was -1 +3, dont do motorway miles, would rather have instant pull than topend..thanks for the reply guys
