Beauty is skin deep, but ugly goes all the way down to the bone.

If Santa does not bring me a decent back shocker this year, I may have to invest in one.

When I had a 955i the rear was much like the Tuono's. I looked into progressive springs and chatted to a fair few suspension shops about them .If you are looking for sharper sportier handling then they are not for you. They are a compromise on handling and thats why many manufacturers use them as standard on touring bikes as they offer passable handling across a wide range of loads on a bike. Linear rate springs rated to your weight and riding requirements are a better route if you are looking for sport/track type settings. IMHO.

Really depends on what you want.

Cheers Steve, pleased someone took the time to give some real feedback

Just spoke to Brook Suspension & they advised that other than overhaulling the old unit (£100.00) there is not a lot they can do with the Sachs unit.

They did say that the old unit would be "as new" afterwards - if thats any good, but the best thing is to replace it with a better one.

There's not much wrong with the original sachs spring tbh.

It's the dampening in the unit, it runs out of puff after 10 mins hard riding.
